 Backstreet Boy Carter Enters Power Boat Circuit

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has bought a 43-foot offshore racing boat, capable of 130 mph speeds, that is to be driven by his father, Bob Carter, and will enter it in the American Power Boat Association's 2002 circuit with races in the United States and Canada. Following an April 28 debut in Daytona Beach, Florida, Nick Carter Racing will make its first hometown appearance at the Marathon Offshore Grand Prix May 17-19.

Backstreet Boy agrees to intervention program

Nick agreed to enter into a pretrial intervention program in a deal with state prosecutors to clear him of a misdemeanor charge. He charged with resisting or opposing a law enforcement officer without violence after he refused an officer's orders to leave a Tampa night club on Jan. 2. As part of the intervention program Carter agreed to, he will serve a period of probation, perform community service and pay an undisclosed fine. If Carter completes the program, the charges will be dropped.
Nick Carter To Play In Joe DiMaggio Legends Game

Nick Carter has participated in the 14th Annual Joe DiMaggio Legends Game and also performed the National Anthem. The event have taken place on Saturday, February 9, 2002 (7:00 p.m.) at Fort Lauderdale Stadium and proceeded benefit the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. [pix coming soon]

The list of celebrities who will be part of the NBA All-Star Jam Session - coming to the Convention Center Feb. 7 to 10 - is firming up. At 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8, a game of six-on-six basketball will draw Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, Chris Kirkpatrick of 'N Sync, Christina Milian, P. Diddy, Redman, Method Man, Lil' Bow Wow and Donald Faison.
Nick Visits Sick Kids in the Hospital

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter visits the pediatric unit at Coral Spring Medical Center to sign autographs and cheer up the kids. The boy band star will turn 22 on Monday, so the hospital presented him a cake. He cut it and shared it with the kids in the unit. Carter, who at present lives near Tampa, was in the Coral Springs area looking at potential homes.
